MTN has announced the discontinuation of its FibreX 20Mbps plan priced at N22,500. The discontinuation will become effective on August 22, 2026.
The Internet Service Provider (ISP) is offering customers with an active subscription on the plan a discounted upgrade from the normal subscription price of ₦22,500 to the next tier plan, FibreX 50Mbps, instead of paying the normal price of ₦30,000. The renewal price will be ₦30,000.
Consumer Paddy observed that the company launched its unlimited fiber internet service with the lowest plan of 20Mbps at N15,000. During our observation, it was noticed that the plan was later removed from the plan options on the FiberX portal. Customers were only able to subscribe to the plan via the USSD option.
During the price review for the MTN FibreX subscription plans, the 20Mbps price was increased by 50 per cent to ₦22,500 (from ₦15,000).
